About Hester
I have taught English in secondary schools and for the Open University for many years, and have an enduring passion for my subject. I have a Master's Degree in English Literature, a BA Joint Honours in English and Philosophy, and a PGCE in English and Drama. My teaching experience includes Undergraduate English Literature, A Level Literature, and Language & Literature, the International Baccalaureate and GCSEs Language and Literature. I also have extensive experience in assessment, having written the examination papers for OCR's A level Language & Literature, and examined for the Open University and A Levels. I very much enjoy teaching, both face-to-face and online, and I have the skills to ensure my students make excellent progress. I believe my students would describe me as an inspiring, supportive and effective teacher, who has given them the confidence and skills to achieve very highly in English.
