About Hiruki
I recently graduated from Willetton Senior High School, where English ATAR was my highest-scoring subject, both during school and in the WACE exams. However, in lower school, I struggled to understand English as a subject and often regarded it as the “extra” or “useless” subject. As a result, I barely managed passing marks and lacked a strong foundation in the fundamentals.
When I learned that English ATAR was a compulsory subject for pursuing the ATAR pathway in upper school, I decided to relearn the basics and worked hard to master them over the summer holidays before Year 11. By late Year 11, I had developed the ability to understand given prompts and produce cohesive, well-structured responses.
Through trial and error, I discovered various tips and strategies that helped me succeed in English ATAR. One key insight I’ve gained is that relying solely on AI tools for completing tasks often hinders performance in Year 12. Therefore, it’s crucial for students to build their skills early to ensure long-term success in this subject.

Upper school students (year 11 and 12): The lessons is designed to help students excel in the ATAR WACE English exam by developing the ability to write coherent and cohesive responses that effectively engage with prompts in less time than suggested. To achieve this, lessons will focus on students' weakest sections or topics for the first half of each session, allowing them to gradually master these areas. For the remainder of the lesson, students will work on the comprehending section of exams using a variety of past paper exercises and marking keys, as this section provides the easiest opportunity to secure marks.
I will utilize a range of resources—including notes, marking keys, and past papers—that have consistently resulted in English ATAR scores in the high 80s and 90s. Students may also bring their school tasks to work on during sessions.
Lower school students (year 7 - 10) : will spend 45 minutes working on their school tasks with my guidance. The remaining 15 minutes will focus on analyzing visual or written texts, building the skills necessary for success in their future academic endeavors. English ATAR is compulsory for upper school and it is important to correctly master the skills needed to succeed in English atar as early as possible.
Primary school students: Will learn the basic building blocks of future success in English academics.
