I have been teaching history, language, and culture courses for 20 years. This includes all levels of Spanish, modern U.S. history, colonial and modern Latin American history, global Cold War history, and geopolitics. I am obsessed with history and enjoy helping students see that history is enjoyable to learn (even though it can be overwhelming at times) and that it is more than just memorizing people and dates—it's about contextualizing those events within a broader context as it relates to human history.
While history is not an exact science, I provide my students with the skills and practices of professional historians so that they may reach more logical and reasoned conclusions about the past. Through my history and Latin American Studies courses, I aim to prepare my students to become more critically engaged, more compassionate, and more thoughtful citizens of the United States and of the world.

I hold a Ph.D. in history and a M.A. in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino studies from the University of South Florida. I have taught university courses for my areas of expertise for 20 years.
