About Nitzan
If you really want to imagine yourself in a different time, taste and smell are essential. By cooking, you will learn about flavor combinations, techniques and ingredients that you will not easily find elsewhere. Think, for example, of dates filled with peppercorns (delicious!), Preparing your own 'speculaas' spices or unknown seasonings such as rue or asefoetida. As a history teacher and avid cooking enthousiast, I have been using food ingredients in my history lessons for years. At various schools I even cooked a real Roman buffet with students, which was great fun.

I challenge you to taste everything and find out the background of ingredients and recipes. We will be cooking hands-on from traditional and historical recipes, but adapted to the modern kitchen. Classes are suitable for anyone who loves to cook and is interested in the history of our food.
