I am a history graduate who has spent two years working in editorial for a company that provides careers advice to students and helps graduate employers to access talented students and graduates.
I did A levels in English literature (grade A), history (grade A), and government and politics (grade A).

I can provide English literature and history lessons to primary school, GCSE and A Level students. I can also help with CV writing and essay writing.
As a tutor, I keep a close eye on the curriculum my student is following and make sure I cover the basics before delving into further reading. I gauge the strengths and struggles of the student, and think of creative methods of overcoming any difficulties they come up against. These might include acronyms and talking about allusions to modern culture I think the student will respond well to.
I like to make my students feel comfortable, and to reassure them that no question is a stupid question. I want them to feel confident about sitting their exams so, while I suggest further reading or provide extra context when I think this would aid understanding or the student would enjoy this, I don't "go off on a tangent".
I know that knowledge isn't all that's needed for academic success. I also incorporate examination and essay skills, as well as controlling examination nerves, into lessons.
