About George
My name is George and I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, where I studied History. Having recently finished my own journey in education, I understand the importance of clear and effective teaching, and the stresses and difficulties that children face through school and university.
I am here to provide sound advice to anyone who is struggling with the humanities. History has taught me to write concisely and analytically, and throughout university I helped many prospective students with personal statements and admissions prep. I am warm and approachable, and foster a friendly environment that encourages intellectual inquiry.

I take a topical approach to teaching, covering a topic or two a week. Before you become a student of mine, I will organise a preliminary meeting to discuss your specific objectives and goals. This initial conversation is crucial in tailoring the sessions to meet your needs, ensuring that our lessons are focussed and directly address your learning priorities.
Once objectives are set, I'll ask you to send me any relevant work that you have completed. This could be essays, assignments, writing samples, or university applications. This allows me to review your current skill level and identify areas for improvement. I will then structure the lesson based on our agreed-upon objectives. I believe in making lessons both interactive and discursive. This means that I will actively engage you in discussions related to the topic at hand. Expect questions that prompt critical thinking and help assess your understanding.
After our discussion, I will provide feedback on the submitted work. I will suggest corrections, and any changes to phraseology or structure that will make the work more cogent. My ultimate goal for each lesson is that every student comes away with a better understanding of the topic than before. I'm here to challenge students intellectually while providing the guidance you need for continuous improvement.
