About Ethan
I am a History graduate from the University of Reading, currently working in the infrastructure sector, and with a background in public relations, Parliamentary politics, and secondary education.
I passed the 11+ exam for 6 Grammar Schools, attending Wilson's School for GCSE and A-Level. I achieved 2 unconditional offers and 1 partial scholarship offer from 3 universities. I was enrolled in the academic excellence scheme at Reading for high-performing students.
I am motivated by helping people to achieve what they deserve to achieve, and by seeing others succeed. I had a tutor for my 11+ exam, and I couldn't have done it without them, so I know that just a little extra guidance can make a big difference!

I take an interactive, discussion-based approach to teaching, so that my students feel involved and have control over the content they are studying.
Book work / practice questions are of course a part of what I do, but nothing tests understanding like having a good old chat! I will test students through probing questions / discussions, collaboratively working through PPQs, and setting independent tasks for private study.
I am fully flexible on lesson length depending on preference, but I would recommend 60 minutes to have the chance to fully explore a topic / question.
My lessons are for all ages, from 11+ plus all the way through to A-Level (and degree level for History or Politics). Having taken the 11+ myself and gone through the Grammar School system, I know what it takes to get these key moments right.
