About Joe
I have had much experience working with young people. My experience as a teaching assistant gave me insight as to the nature of tutoring and education. This passion to instruct and to help children has been furthered, moreover, through my work in a number of different roles: as a volunteer for a disabled children's charity, as an ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust- a role which involved delivering classroom lessons on the Holocaust- and as a leader of sexual consent workshops aimed at first year students.
Whilst I have not been a tutor before, I have a passionate interest- and proven record- in humanities subjects; I received straight As at A level and then went on to achieve a First Class Honours at Oxford University in History. I am now eager to give something back and try and help others excel in these subjects.

I have always had success by approaching humanities subjects both creatively and critically, and would value encouraging both of these traits in other students. So, on the one hand, I place much emphasis on the student's own ideas and responses that they have uniquely generated. At the same time though, I think it's imperative to make sure that these ideas are aligned with the demands of the course and examinations.
I also am excellent at essay writing, and so think it is integral to place a lot of focus on essay writing skills for students at all levels.
