About Neha

I am passionate about helping students succeed and grow in confidence. I’ve tutored both English and Maths, and over time, I I have developed a wide range of resources to support my students—everything from study guides to example essays and exam-style questions.

I’ve always loved creating revision materials. I even kept my own GCSE and A-Level notes because they helped me so much, and I now use them to support my students. I take pride in making complex topics clear and easy to understand, breaking them down into simple steps students can follow.

I am currently studying History at university, which has strengthened my ability to write clearly, think critically, and build strong arguments—skills that are also essential for success in English. My degree constantly challenges me to analyse texts, form evidence-based points, and communicate ideas effectively, all of which I bring into my tutoring.

What motivates me most is seeing students go from feeling unsure to feeling confident. I enjoy helping them find a method that works and giving them the tools to succeed in their exams. Teaching is not just about results for me—it’s about making learning feel possible and even enjoyable.

I focus on helping GCSE students build confidence and structure in their exam responses by teaching them clear, repeatable methods for tackling different question types. My approach centres around exam technique—particularly understanding the structure and formula that can be applied to each question so that students have a reliable method for approaching their answers.

I begin by modelling how to approach an essay or extract-based question, demonstrating how to break down the question, annotate key parts of the extract, and plan a focused response. We then plan a paragraph together, discussing ideas and structure, and work through the writing process collaboratively.
Students are given the opportunity to write their own paragraph using the method we've developed, with feedback and support as needed.
Once the student gains confidence and finds a method that works for them, lessons typically evolve into essay planning, timed practice, and detailed feedback.

Sessions are adapted depending on the student’s needs—some focus more on extract analysis and annotation, while others may centre around essay writing, planning, or building exam stamina. They last around 1 hour.

I primarily tutor GCSE students (typically aged 14–16). My sessions are suitable for all ability levels, whether a student is aiming for a pass or pushing for top grades. I aim to create a supportive, structured environment where students feel comfortable exploring ideas and building exam confidence.

I have over a year of tutoring experience, working with both groups and one-to-one students. During this time, I’ve supported a range of learners with varying abilities and learning styles, helping them improve their understanding and exam performance.
