About Hannah
I am Hannah Leyland. I am 22 and currently undertaking a teacher training programme at Liverpool Hope University. The programme is school- based, so I have been in the classroom and teaching History to pupils aged 11-18 from the start of the academic year.
I have loved history all my life, studying it at GCSE and A Level and including it as a specialism in my law degree. My favourite areas of history are The Tudors, the World Wars and Modern America. I have a particular interest in Nazi Germany and the Holocaust.

History can be a very overwhelming subject with many dates and events to remember. I believe that by making the past relatable to the future and making lessons engaging and exciting, pupils can remember more knowledge. My lessons are very practical and I have a hands on approach. I believe that pupils learn most effectively when they are proactive in their learning, so I will ask students how they learn best and want they want to achieve from the sessions and ensure that I encorporate this into my planning. I focus on content first, then exam techniques and then blend the two approaches together. My biggest desire is to foster a love for the subject in my pupils.
