About Mayra
I've been working as a private tutor for more than 4 years now, and it is truly my passion. I love connecting and bonding with my students (although I'm very respectful of everyone's personal lives) and see how they progress andare able to accomplish their goals, whether that is traveling to a specific country, being able to talk to their partner in their mother language or communicating with their Spanish speaking family.
I think learning a foreign language is a complex process that requires much more than learning the grammar by the book, which is certainly part of it but not necessarily the main point.
Years of education and experience have taught me not to take things for granted when it comes to teaching Spanish, and that every student is a whole different world with their own surrounding reality. So, mu job is get to know them and help them reach the target, in a way they find enjoyable but efficient.

Lessons are tailored according to student's level, interests, learning styles and needs. Use Communicative Approach, Task-Based learning and Action Oriented Approach as foundation of my teaching practices, lessons are guaranteed to be efficient, fun and reliable.
Having completed a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Languages teaching and being an immigrant myself, I'm qualified but also aware enough of the challenges and struggles learning a foreign language can bring to students.
Individual lessons are 50-60 mins, groups lessons are 90 mins.
Can teach face-to-face lessons (for the ones in Adelaide, at a convenient place to be agreed) and online lessons. I'mquite confident with online teaching tools, being Zoom, Canva, Genially, Kahoot some of my favourite ones, to make my classes more fun and interactive.
A textbook is desirable, but not a must. I can suggest one that suits your needs once I know what your language goals are.
