About Brian
I am a US Army Veteran who used my educational benefits that I earned to become an honors student who graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a GPA over 3.90, while working full time, getting married, buying a house, and having a child (I completed one final while we were in the hospital, a couple hours after my baby was born!) This all has given me a pretty solid understanding of the dynamics of balancing life and schoolwork, and how to do so in the age of online learning. I believe that many of these non-academic details can be very important for a student to know when selecting a tutor, because ultimately, the goal is to find the right combination of attention and approach to a subject between tutor and student in order to elevate the student's grades and understanding of said subject.

It always starts with the student. Tutoring is NOT simply extra time one-on-one, working in the same fashion as the class(es) in question is/are conducted. Tutoring is also about how to figure out the best way for an individual student to approach a class or subject matter for their own benefit. We will identify specific and broad goals, for the class, for their academic career, and for personal satisfaction. We will identify potential obstacles and ways to overcome them. I can tutor essay/paper writing, literary criticism/interpretation, and creative writing. I have a degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing, so I have written one or more essays/papers/stories a week throughout a large portion of my college year
