About Nick
Have you ever thought of yourself as “not a math person” or someone who “doesn’t like numbers?” As a tutor for 18 sections of undergraduate-level intro statistics, I’ve been able to work with dozens of students just like you. Through targeted 1:1 tutoring, we’ll work together to demystify statistical concepts, work on building confidence with algebra, or make sense of arithmetic. While my previous students averaged a 15% increase in test scores from midterms to final exams, I’m most proud that all of them left their time studying with me more confident in their abilities to understand concepts, produce calculations, and interpret results.

My approach is centered on meeting Learners where they first come to me, and focusing on building confidence in material. I have experience with helping students at the undergraduate and graduate level in everything from helping non-scientists to build a foundation in stats to working with graduate level researchers building original research projects.
I focus first on conceptual knowledge (how does this stuff work), and then move to practice. Along the way, my goal is always to demystify concepts that often learners have been told they are “not good at” and expose the root of why some concepts may be more challenging for individual learners.
