About Tiffany

Teaching is my passion and I love to help students that are struggling get the skills and strategies that they need to excel. I find that intellect or lack thereof is rarely what inhibits a student's success. In addition to teaching skills that are needed, I also concentrate heavily on removing the obstacles that are really getting in the way of a student enjoying learning and becoming a lifelong learner. Learning can be a scary and stressful thing so I Ensure that my teaching environment is caring and supportive and a safe place to learn. When a student has the space and the security to take the risks that learning requires, I see a dramatic difference in a student's ability and skill level. These are the philosophies that I teach by and have found them to be very successful

About the lesson

Hello my name is Tiffany. I have a master's degree in teaching English and more than 15 years experience with one-on-one and classroom instruction. I have taught grade kindergarten through adult, and have prepared many students for standardized tests. I have prepared students for SAT, ACT, TOEFL, TOEFLjr., and as well the SSAT. I have taught English in many community colleges in and around Seattle like Tacoma Community College, Cascadia, South Seattle, and Pierce College. Additionally, I have taught at Tacoma School District and Issaquah School District. I am very familiar with Washington State Standards (also called common core) which details and lays out what is required as far as skills and abilities for each grade kindergarten through 12th. In addition to basic English, I have taught math, science, and history through High School level. I was voted 2022 “Best of Tukwila Tutoring Service for my company TutoringbyTiff. I can provide all materials we will need, and I will assign your student homework,and hold them accountable for doing the assignments, which helps students to understand and practice better time management skills and scheduling. I have a structured, strategic approach to teaching and learning that helps students take ownership in their own studies. As well, I can come to you or teach online if that is what you prefer during this time. I am a patient and kind instructor. Young, adolescent, and adult students enjoy working with me.
