About Ava
My name is Ava, I’m currently a Freshman at Ashley High school I teach English and have been Enrolled in advanced English classes since elementary school and now in full honors classes. I have years of experience with children and how to communicate, teach and connect with them. I strive to communicate in a friendly and comfortable way and I always try to connect and understand with others. I love encouraging everyone to read and write while finding fun and enjoyment in Learning.One of my main focuses while teaching is to build comfortability and a safe space for a student so they feel more open to learning. Teaching about my passions (reading and writing) is one of my dreams and I would be happy to influence others to truly enjoy reading as I do .

I have first hand experience with struggling on certain concepts or tasks and I always try my best to explain carefully and be understanding when somebody doesn’t initially understand something.
While tutoring I would typically have a student try to explain in their own words what exactly they’re struggling with and take what they say into consideration while re-explaining and teaching. I try to keep everything at a slow pace to make sure there is understanding while also taking the students preferred pace and Learning style and applying it to tutoring sessions. I prefer to teach younger students as I am still quite young myself and I have a general teaching style and personality best suited for that age group.
