About Orion
I am currently studying my second year of Calculus and achieved a 1530 on the SAT with a 750 in Mathematics. I've worked with a large variety of students and so can say confidently that no matter the level of mathematics or how good you think you are at math, I can help bring you to the next stage of your understanding!

I am most confident in teaching mathematics from the middle school level to the high school level. I am skilled with adapting to student needs one on one, and will of course tailor my approach after a first meeting. In general, however, my teaching is work-forward. Students are invited to engage with challenging problems and identify where they get stuck, building their confidence for future, higher-level material. When students struggle, I work with them to identify the problem area and clarify all needed points. I also aim to ensure that students enjoy lessons as much as possible by taking a friendly, respectful approach to communication, which I've found to be highly important, especially with students who have difficulties with condescending teachers. My lessons emphasize that struggle is normal but can be overcome.
