About Emma
As a student myself, I understand how difficult many classes/subjects can be. As a peer tutor at the university I attend, I understand that everyone can benefit from tutoring/outside assistance, and learning is a lifelong journey that looks a little different for everyone. I am from Washington State, but go to school just outside of Chicago. I love art, particularly theatre, and write all the time. I love to write fiction (plays, short fiction, novels), but I also love to write a good academic paper with robust research. I am set to graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in May of 2025, a double major with honors, and then I hope to begin to work in the professional theatre world, likely as a production assistant or stage manager. Ultimately, I hope to direct - it's my favorite thing. For now, though, I love to learn and help others to learn, as well!

I believe in a compassionate, listening approach to tutoring. In appointments with me, I will facilitate our session, but you will dictate how we spend our time. I am here as a resource, not a boss. I work will all levels, from elementary school up to college-level peers. While I am most confident helping with writing, literature, and theatre, I am also always willing to help tutees with any other subject they may want to run by me. I love to provide resources to students so that they can become more comfortable with the subjects we cover over time and not be dependent on tutoring, though I also love to foster tutor/tutee relationships! I aim to be a trusted resource for everyone I help so that they can increase their confidence and knowledge of the subject matter we cover.
