About Tessa
Hi! My name is Tessa and I am an honors student at Syracuse University studying Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies. I have experience supporting students through tutoring, homework help, and literacy support in both one-on-one and group settings, including working with refugee and immigrant students. I also have extensive experience working with children through camps and childcare. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s goals and learning style. As an Honors student, I bring strong skills in writing, communication, and critical thinking to my lessons.

My name is Tessa, and my tutoring approach is patient, supportive, and fully personalized to each student’s needs. I focus on building confidence while making learning clear, structured, and engaging.
Teaching method: I break concepts into simple steps, use guided practice, and encourage active participation so students can explain ideas back in their own words. I adapt my approach based on how each student learns best.
Typical lesson: We start with a quick review, focus on a key topic with explanation and practice, then finish by summarizing key points and setting small goals for next time.
