About Marie Katthy
As a child immigrant myself to the United Kingdom coming from a French speaking country, I have the experience of having acquired a new language via different methods which I apply to my teaching methods.
I also helped my younger and older relatives to master their language skills in English and French.
I also studied my diploma in hotel management in a non-English speaking country where I helped many of my peers to understand and apply the correct use of English to their coursework as well as to the proofreading of their work.

- What subject (s) do you teach?
Being fluent in English, French and the native Mauritian Creole, languages are a passion for me. I would love to help any young or adult student acquire a clear understanding, read and speak the English or French language.
- Who can you teach?
As I am interested in teaching a wide range of ages and levels, I like to adapt my lessons to the needs of my students. From children who want to be introduced to French to adults who need to improve their English (IELTS) or French to work or study, I can help by identifying and setting goals and creating the framework necessary to reach them.
- How do you teach?
For most of my students, we start with a quick pronunciation and accent reduction course. We study all the sounds of the English or French language by studying the international phonetic alphabet, and I teach all the important tips and tricks to help you speak like a native speaker.
I then base my lessons on grammar, practice, vocabulary, speaking and listening, all in a fun and interesting environment where the course settings are based on the student's interest in the media used.
