About Yasmine
Hi! My name is Yasmine, and I am a student at Howard University with a strong passion for English, storytelling, and helping students grow in confidence academically. I understand that English can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to writing essays, reading comprehension, grammar, or analyzing literature, which is why I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for every student I work with.
I pride myself on being patient, dependable, and understanding. I believe that every student is capable of succeeding when they are given the right support and teaching approach that works best for them. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to help them become more confident in their communication and critical thinking skills.
As someone who has experience balancing academics, creativity, and leadership, I know the importance of feeling heard and supported while learning. I bring professionalism, positive energy, and dedication into every lesson, making sure students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace.
I work with students in 6th through 12th grade and tailor each lesson to fit their individual learning needs and goals. Whether your child needs extra academic support, help with assignments, or stronger writing and reading skills, I am committed to helping them succeed while making learning engaging and rewarding.

As a tutor, my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive, and motivating environment where students feel confident learning and expressing themselves. I understand that every student learns differently, so I personalize my teaching approach based on each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style. My lessons focus on improving reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, essay writing, critical thinking, and overall communication skills while also helping students build confidence in English.
A typical lesson with me is interactive and engaging. I usually begin by identifying what the student needs help with most, whether it is homework support, writing essays, reading analysis, grammar, or strengthening comprehension skills. From there, we work through activities together such as reading passages, writing exercises, discussions, vocabulary practice, and creative learning techniques that make lessons feel less stressful and more enjoyable. I also provide constructive feedback and encouragement so students feel supported throughout the learning process.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my creative background and ability to connect with students in a genuine way. As a Howard University student and storyteller, I value communication, creativity, and helping students discover confidence in their own voice. I bring patience, understanding, and positive energy into every lesson while making learning feel approachable and engaging instead of intimidating.
My lessons are designed for students in 6th through 12th grade at all learning levels. Whether a student needs extra academic support, help preparing for assignments, stronger writing skills, or more confidence in English overall, I am committed to helping them grow, improve, and succeed.
