About Xoliswa
I have experience teaching absolute beginners, including students who feel nervous about tones or speaking a new language. Because I learned Mandarin as a foreigner myself, I understand exactly where students struggle — and how to explain things simply.
What makes me stand out:
Real-life Mandarin experience from living in China
Clear explanations tailored for English speakers
Strong focus on pronunciation and usable language
Patient, encouraging approach — no pressure, no intimidation
My goal is to help students actually use Mandarin, not just memorize phrases.

My teaching style is structured, calm, and supportive. I explain concepts clearly, break down difficult sounds and sentence patterns, and make sure students feel comfortable speaking from the very first lesson.
Lessons are:
Practical and communication-focused
Adapted to the student’s pace and goals
Supported with custom materials (I prepare my own lessons)
I believe consistency and confidence are more important than rushing content.
