About Milla
I’m an IB Dual Diploma graduate with a strong mix of academic and leadership experience. I served as Student Council President, was Salutatorian of my class, and captained multiple varsity sports teams (football, rugby, and volleyball). I’ve chaired Model UN and been deeply involved in service and student life throughout high school. These roles have taught me how to balance academics, leadership, and teamwork - all skills I bring into every tutoring session. I know how tough the IB can be, but I also know that with the right support, every student can succeed. I'm here to help you not just do well, but feel confident and in control of your learning!

Who the lessons are for: My lessons are designed for IB Diploma and Middle Years Programme students who want support in Global Politics, Humanities, Math AA SL, Spanish AB, or Language & Literature (English). Having gone through the IB curriculum myself, I understand its challenges and expectations firsthand, which allows me to tailor lessons effectively to help you improve your grades.
Teaching method and techniques: I use a personalized approach that adapts to your learning style and goals.
In Global Politics, I focus on helping you think critically by analyzing and evaluating different perspectives to understand topics from multiple angles. Key terms and case studies will be explored, and I will show you how to navigate Papers 1 and 2 to ensure you get as many marks as possible
For Math AA SL, I explain concepts in a clear way, having taught many classmates and friends, and guide you through exercises so you can confidently solve problems on your own. Key topics students struggle with are Functions and Calculus, which I can teach to students who need it. Other topics such as statistics, probability, sequences & series are all options as well.
In the IBDP Maths AASL Course, students must know the functions on their calculators very well. I can also advise with tips and tricks that students will find most helpful for their classes.
For Spanish, I focus on improving comprehension and practical use through regular practice and key topics/ phrases that help you speak Spanish. I can teach all the conjugations and explain them well for beginners!
For Language & Literature, I can help students improve their scores in Paper 1, Paper 2, and the HL Essay. I can help students learn how to analyze literary and non-literary texts.
Typical lesson plan: A lesson usually lasts 60 minutes (though we can extend if needed).
We start with 10 minutes reviewing previous material to make sure you’re confident with what you’ve learned. Then we spend about 30 minutes learning and analyzing new content, breaking down complex ideas in Politics or working through math problems step-by-step. The last 20 minutes are for practice, discussion, and questions to make sure everything is clear and understood.
I believe that critical thinking and evaluation are key in Politics, and I make sure to include them throughout the lessons so each student adopts an open-minded and analytical mindset.
What sets me apart: I’m a young, motivated IB graduate and student leader with real experience in Model UN and school leadership. I bring a fun and personalized approach. My practical IB insights and exam strategies can help you not just study but truly excel in your classes!

I had the pleasure of teaching Milla in several classes in secondary school. I have been continuously impressed by her thoughtfulness, critical thinking, knowledge, and excellent research and communication skills. I'd highly recommend Milla as a tutor in a class that requires knowledge of politics and/or critical thinking and communication skills.
