• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  My subjects are Mathematics and Statistics, which I absolutely love because they are practical, logical, and focused on problem-solving rather than rote theory. I genuinely enjoy working through problems — there’s a sense of satisfaction and excitement when I arrive at the correct solution or successfully explain a concept to someone else. Over time, my interest deepened thanks to the wonderful mentors and teachers I had, who explained concepts so clearly that they made learning both enjoyable and inspiring. Their guidance played a big role in developing my strong passion for these subjects.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My biggest motivation to teach comes from my mother and my former teachers. In fact, teaching has always felt somewhat inbuilt in me — ever since childhood, I used to imagine myself as a teacher, and it became my dream career. My mother, who taught me until class 8, inspired me deeply. Watching her teach with patience and clarity sparked my own interest in the profession. I genuinely feel happy and fulfilled when someone understands a concept I explain and feels more confident as a result. That sense of making a difference in someone’s learning journey motivates me to keep improving as a teacher.

• How does your work help society?

  As a teacher, my work helps society by contributing to the growth and education of students — the foundation of any community. By helping students understand concepts clearly and develop confidence in subjects like Mathematics and Statistics, I aim to make learning less stressful and more enjoyable. When students overcome their fear of these subjects and start thinking logically and independently, it not only boosts their academic performance but also builds problem-solving skills that benefit them in real life. In this way, my work supports the development of informed, confident, and capable individuals who can contribute positively to society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My biggest role model is my mother. She has always inspired me with her patience, dedication, and passion for teaching. Watching her teach me and others with such clarity and care made me realize the impact a good teacher can have on a student’s life. She taught me not just academic lessons but also the values of hard work, empathy, and continuous learning. Her influence is the main reason I chose to follow the same path and pursue teaching as my career.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy reading books, solving puzzles, and exploring new concepts related to Mathematics and data analysis. I also like listening to music and spending time in nature, which helps me relax and stay focused. Occasionally, I engage in creative activities like organizing study materials or creating simple educational content, as I find joy in making learning engaging for others.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  During my college days, one of my classmates often struggled with Statistics and felt completely lost before exams. I started helping her regularly, explaining concepts in a simple, step-by-step way. Over time, she not only began scoring well but also started enjoying the subject. The day she told me, “You explain better than the teacher — I actually understand it now,” I felt genuinely fulfilled. That moment made me realize how much I love teaching and how deeply satisfying it is to make someone’s learning journey easier and more confident. It strengthened my decision to pursue teaching as a career.
