About Hodan
My name is Hodan, and I am a Chemistry PhD graduate from Imperial College London, where I also achieved a First-Class MSci degree. I have published two first-author research papers and received the David Phillips Prize for my academic work.
Alongside my research, I have several years of experience teaching and mentoring students, including leading STEM outreach activities for pupils in Years 9–13 and supervising university Master’s students. I am patient, approachable and committed to creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
Having achieved A*A*A at A level in Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, I understand the knowledge, consistency and examination technique required to achieve excellent results. My goal is to help every student become more confident, independent and enthusiastic about Chemistry.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s ability, learning style and goals. I begin by identifying gaps in understanding before explaining difficult concepts clearly using diagrams, worked examples and real-world applications. Lessons also include active recall, exam-style questions and guidance on examination technique. I encourage students to ask questions and build confidence rather than simply memorising information.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged when preparing for examinations.
I hold a PhD in Chemistry and a First-Class MSci from Imperial College London. I also achieved A*A*A at A level in Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. I have several years of experience teaching and supporting students in Years 9–13 through my work as a STEM outreach leader at Imperial College London.
