About Joshua
I'm a first-year Engineering student at Imperial College London, originally drawn to STEM by a curiosity for how the physical world works — from the mathematics underlying it to the materials and systems built on top of it.
I've always found that the best way to solidify my own understanding of something is to explain it to someone else. Helping others work through difficult concepts — and seeing the moment something finally clicks — is something I find genuinely rewarding. Tutoring feels like a natural extension of that.
Outside of academics, I speak four languages — English, Polish, Russian and German — which reflects the kind of curiosity and commitment I bring to everything I take on.

My lessons follow a 50/50 theory and practice structure. I begin by explaining the core concept clearly and concisely, then move into targeted problem-solving questions. This isn't just about checking answers — working through problems together reveals exactly where a student's understanding breaks down, allowing me to adapt the session in real time rather than following a rigid plan. For maths and physics especially, this active approach is the only way to build genuine understanding.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes long. After each lesson, I provide a short optional homework sheet with full worked solutions — because understanding why an answer is right or wrong is far more valuable than simply being told a mark.
I tutor students at GCSE and IB level in Maths, Physics, Computer Science and Economics, and am well-suited to students aiming for top grades or preparing for competitive university applications.
I am also fluent in English, Polish, Russian and German — useful for students working in their second language who occasionally need a concept explained with a little extra clarity.
