About Annabel
My goal with my tutees is to allow them to build the confidence to succeed in whatever subject it is they struggle with. My tutees receive genuine encouragement and guidance that allows them to flourish. Whether you're struggling with a challenging topic, seeking clarification on a concept, or looking to enhance your skills, I'm here to provide my tutees with support in their journey. I'm currently a MEng student at Imperial College London studying Civil Engineering. I currently tutor part time and have been for 3 years. I have a love for learning anything maths or science based (as you can probably guess) but also a love for teaching. I've seen how many people have been wronged by maths, and maths teachers, and have made it a goal to incite a love for learning in my tutees. I value personal growth and understanding over grades; limiting oneself to "getting an A*" puts pressure on memorising facts above fundamental understanding, and this is often not beneficial in the long run. I believe every student should be encouraged to achieve the best they can and for this to be the focus, rather than any specific level.

No two students are the same. Each individual has different goals, learning styles, and responsibilities. Therefore my lesson plans are tailored to each student. Whether you know what you want to achieve, or just want a guiding hand to push you further, I hope I can help. I tend to focus on using topic-specific questions to reinforce key concepts and past papers to cement key exam techniques. I want you to think for yourself, face hard problems and learn to break them down yourself. Having gone through the UK educational system I know how daunting it can be so my role in these lessons are to support and guide tutees in their subject area. FAQ: What do you teach? - Maths and Further Maths: GCSE/iGCSE - KS2 and KS3 students preparing for school entrance exams: ISEB CE 13+ What times do you teach? I am quite flexible and often teach in afternoons through till evenings, including holidays and weekends. How will the lesson be arranged? I use Zoom for most my lessons but am happy to use Skype if you are more comfortable with that. I happy to pair lessons with homework using a variety of websites and worksheets depending on your preference.

Annabel tutored me in GCSE Maths and Physics, she was extremely patient with me and explained everything no matter how many times i didn’t understand it (which especially with physics is a lot) and truly cared for me as a student.
