About Alison
Hello!
My name is Alison, I am a Massachusetts Native, and I have been tutoring since I was 16 years old.
I started tutoring back in high school as a way to help other students excel in the subjects they needed assistance in. After working in social work jobs, and at Perkins School for the Blind and Deaf as a Teacher’s Assistant, I learned a few things.
I learned that -
1. Everyone has their own way of learning ie; visual, verbal, hands on, etc.
2. There is no right or wrong way to learn, so long as you can retain the material and practice what you’ve learned, you’ve already gained as a student!
3. Communication looks different for everyone. Communication is not only verbal, it is also visual, and sometimes written.
I help tutor any and all ages however, I’ve primarily taught ages 6+. Mostly in American Sign Language/Deaf History, English (vocab, study skills, resume review, essay writing, and more), and job interview skills.
I can also assist in areas within each skill I previously mentioned, just ask and we can work something out. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

First session is all about getting to know you and how you operate, once I know that lessons go smoothly.
My lessons surround how you retain information, and how you communicate. If you’re more of a visual learner and a straightforward communicator, I make sure to match our lessons with that and so forth. I make sure by the end of our sessions you’ve not only gained knowledge, but are able to apply said knowledge in daily life.
