I'm an incoming Psychology student at the University of Utah. I can teach subjects from Middle School Math and Sciences, to Algebra II, High School Science, and AP Level Psychology.

About Jon
I'm an incoming freshman at the University of Utah and graduating senior from Puget Sound Adventist Academy. I've routinely performed at the highest level in my class, and I also have gone above and beyond to take advantage of the opportunities I've been given. I currently hold one AP test score with a 4 in AP Psychology and 2 tests pending in AP Environmental Science and AP US History. I hold 2025 ACT Math and Sciences score of 35 and 34 respectively, ranking in the top 1% nationally. I've taken Math up to Calculus I at PSAA, Edmonds College, Lake Washington Institute of Technology and Northwest University.
I'm generally a pretty laid back person, but I also understand the need for professionalism. I aim to hit that sweet spot of professionalism and approachability, and I hope to have a good time helping you succeed.

I view tutoring as a collaborative approach. I don't like to hand out answers, instead being more of a guide to help them find the right answer. I ask questions to make them think and try to set them up not with just the formulas or definitions, but also the skills to set them up for upper-division high school and college classes.
I aim to:
- Start addressing the major pain points, and see where we can do better
- Provide feedback and simple, but complete explanations and try to walk through the problem together.
- If the student does not fully understand, I will show them an example problem from their book or the curriculum I have on hand, and walk them through the example.
- I will then let them work on a problem on their own, and provide help if they need it.
What really sets me apart though is my view of peer-to-peer learning being one of the most effective methods. As a person who has been taking 4th-year high school and 1st and 2nd year college classes, as well as AP courses, I understand how hard and dense many concepts in high school can be. Many of the skills that I will be teaching are skills that I still use in my classes as I wrap up my senior year of high school and enter into my first year at the University of Utah.
