About Adel
With vast Literary, Philosophical and Historical knowledge, I know the all the ingredients to make up the perfect essay. I'm a philosophy student, and an avid reader passionate about all things literature and philosophy; whether it's prose, poetry, plays or philosophical arguments, I've got your back. I'm desperate to pursue these subjects outside of my own studies as Literature was my favourite subject at A level. I have an extensive knowledge of literary techniques, critiques and contexts, all of which will help you get in the top band, and I'm happy to just talk about the book in a non-confusing, understandable way as I know a lot of texts we study can be complicated and long! I am very keen to help you understand the text thoroughly and help you see what you can get out of it, as when communicated effectively, these texts can be very eye-opening and intriguing! I like to teach texts in a way which will help you relate to them as I think this is the most effective way to learn and remember things.
My lessons will be structured around you. I'm interested in your strengths and weaknesses and will structure my lessons in a way that best fits your needs. I believe in talking to the student and not at the student as this is a far more effective way of engaging the student and helping them practice skills they’ve learnt. I will go through the exam criteria with you, help with exam techniques and most importantly help you structure your essays so that you will be confident in your exams, know how to plan and divide your time. I believe in interactive learning, meaning you should ask me anything you don't understand whether it's a word, phrase or a whole paragraph! We will practice analysis and writing together until you are confident, and use a step-by-step way of approaching text analysis when writing essays as I know how hard humanities subjects are to prepare for as there’s not always a clear cut formula to go by!

I have known Adel for the past two years as the Vice President of the Exeter University Philosophy Society.
Throughout this time she has proven herself to be extremely reliable, as she would show up to every event without fail and would always ensure that every event ran smoothly.
I have also been present for Essay Writing Workshops that she ran through Philosophy Society, and I was extremely impressed with her teaching ability. She was not only able to explain philosophical concepts in a very digestible manner, but she also demonstrated her writing ability by giving specific tips on how to make an essay stand out. When reading over essays she was excellent at being able to rewrite people's points so that they were far more clear and enjoyable to read.
I therefore think Adel would be the perfect tutor for English Literature.Adel is a great teacher! She's knowledgable in her subject and is skilled at explaining difficult concepts in simple terms.
She's very down-to-earth, friendly and you'll enjoy any time you spend with her.
