About Moshe

Hi, I’m Moshe, a certified architect with more than 20 years of international experience. I help architecture students who feel stuck with their concepts, unsure how to develop their projects, or preparing portfolios for architecture school and job applications.

I studied architecture in Florence, Italy and have worked on projects in several countries around the world. Alongside my professional work, I’ve spent many years mentoring architecture students and helping them move their ideas forward. I understand what professors are looking for in studio reviews and what universities expect in a strong portfolio.

Many students come to me when they feel lost with a concept, discouraged after critiques, or unsure how to present their ideas clearly. In our sessions, we work through your project together. I help you turn your ideas into clear architectural concepts, improve your sketches and drawings, and develop your project so it becomes stronger and more convincing.

I support students with portfolio preparation for architecture school, studio projects, concept development, sketching, design thinking, presentations, and interview preparation. Whether you are a high school student applying to architecture programs or a university student trying to push your project to the next level, I will help you find direction and confidence in your work.

If you feel stuck with your project or want a professional perspective on your portfolio, feel free to reach out and tell me what you’re working on. I’ll be happy to help.

Every lesson is tailored to where you are in the portfolio process and what top architecture schools are looking for.

1. Portfolio Review | We begin by reviewing the work you already have and identifying what shows your strengths and what needs improvement.
2. Project Selection | We choose the right projects to include and organize them into a clear and compelling story about how you think as a future architect.
3. Project Development | If your portfolio needs stronger material, we develop new sketches, drawings, diagrams, or creative exercises to strengthen it.
4. Layout and Presentation | We work on how your portfolio is presented, improving the visual structure, clarity, and storytelling of each page.
5. Final Review and Application Preparation | We refine the portfolio and prepare you for interviews and portfolio presentations.

As a certified architect with more than 20 years of international experience, and after mentoring many students preparing applications, I understand what admissions committees at architecture schools are looking for. A strong portfolio is not just a collection of drawings. It needs to show curiosity, creativity, and the way you think about design.

My sessions are relaxed, supportive, and focused on your work. We review your ideas together, develop new material as needed, and shape your portfolio to clearly communicate your potential as a future architecture student.

The goal is to help you create a portfolio that feels authentic to you and stands out to architecture schools, while giving you the confidence to present your work during the application process. It is always fun experience, and you'll walk away with a beautiful portfolio that you will be proud to send out to top schools.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I became interested in architecture quite early, when I understood that space can change how people feel. A room or a building can affect our mood and our thoughts. That fascinated me. Later, I became interested in private tutoring because I saw how many talented students feel lost or misunderstood. I realized I could help them and get them to see their own strengths and potential.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I teach architecture, drawing, sketching, concept development, portfolio preparation, and creative thinking. What I enjoy most is helping students find the real idea behind their work. I love discussing how to turn a feeling, a story, or an observation into a project. I also enjoy talking about creativity and imagination. What I enjoy less is when students think architecture is only about drawing skills, software or making cool buildings. Good work goes much deeper than that.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, I had teachers who inspired me, especially the ones who saw something in me before I fully saw it in myself. The best teachers were never just teaching lessons or giving information. They were opening doors. They made me feel that creativity and my way of seeing the world had value. This is what helped shape me.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs patience and the ability to really see the unique aspects in each student. Not just the work, but the student. A good tutor should know when to challenge, when to encourage, and when to slow things down. I also think a good tutor should make learning engaging and fun. Students learn much better when they feel engaged and interested.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I remember being a student in my first year, and I used to buy a lot of architecture books and sketch all the images; one of them was from the very famous book by Santiago Calatrava. One day, he came to our university, and I had the privilege of meeting him and talking with him, and from that talk, he drew a sketch on the board. He addressed my question with his sketch, and I remember how interesting it was: one moment you are inspired by someone, and the next you are actually in front of that person. This is what I understood that I want to be, I also wanted to help students to get inspired and continue exploring architecture with a higher purpose and connection. I understood how important the inspiration was.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

At the beginning, the hardest part for me as a student was finding a creative process of my own, one that could keep the soul and essence of a concept alive through every stage and dimension of a project. Another challenge was learning how to translate abstract ideas into real space, form, and materials. Later, once I developed that ability, the next challenge was finding clients and investors who believed in me enough to trust me with their biggest dreams and allow me to give those dreams form through architecture. Today, my challenge is different. It is to pass this knowledge on to students, to teach them the methods, insights, and practical truths that many universities still do not teach.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Yes, I have a deep passion for creativity itself. I love the moment of brainstorming with the student, this intimate, creative place where you experiment with ideas without limits, bring the best out of the project, reach new highs and solutions that no one, before the brainstorm, including me, would have known were possible. Also, guiding my students to their strongest potential, which they are not even aware of. They need someone who can help them to see how amazing and strong their ideas can actually be.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

One of the things that excites me most is the creative process of discovering a concept, an idea, or a solution together. There is something deeply rewarding in watching a project slowly take shape and become more real with each step. It is not only about solving a design problem. It is about sharing a moment of true co-creation. I believe this is one of the most valuable parts of tutoring. A student is not only improving a project. They are also learning how to work with another creative professional, how to exchange ideas, how to develop them further, and how to push them to their fullest potential. Since so much of an architect’s future depends on collaboration with others, in studios, offices, and many other professional settings, this experience becomes incredibly important. Students often remember it throughout their careers.
