About Shane
I hold master's and bachelor's degrees from Trinity College Dublin and have been playing guitar since the age of 14. My background is primarily in classical guitar, having studied in the United States, Ireland, and Italy. I have had masterclasses with some of the best guitarists in the world, such as David Russell and Jason Vieaux. My recent performances have included recitals in Dublin, Ireland and Padova, Italy.

- I believe the best way to improve on the guitar is to play what you enjoy, and that's the approach I take with my students
- Every lesson starts with the student demonstrating what they've been working on. After I give my feedback, we work together to come up with a plan on how to move forward, and what their goals are for the next lesson.
- I have studied under excellent teachers in the United States, Ireland, and Italy, all of whom approached teaching in different ways. Thus, I know precisely what it's like to be a student, as well as what makes a good teacher.
- My background is primarily in classical guitar. However, I've explored countless other styles throughout my playing career, and am happy to teach whatever genre excites the student most.
- I'm comfortable teaching students of all experience levels.
