About Joshua
Joshua has performed extensively across the world, most notably in Salzburg, Coimbra, Hilton Head, and Minneapolis. As a soloist, he has performed with the Concordia Symphony Orchestra and the Calgary Civic Orchestra.
In 2019, he was awarded the Rose Bowl at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival. His national awards include first prize at the Canadian Music Competition and second prize at the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals Competition. Joshua was also a semi-finalist at the OSM Manulife Competition and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition. Most recently, Joshua was the 2022-23 recipient of the Hnatyshyn Foundation’s Developing Artist Grant for piano.
An avid Chamber Musician, he was part of the 8 PM Trio at McGill. His trio won First Prize at the 2021 McGill Chamber Music Competition and their prize included a residency at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. The group was also featured in performances at the Chapelle Historique du Bon Pasteur and the opening concert of the 2022 Musical Chairs Festival at McGill. Joshua was also a Chamber Music Fellow at the 2022 Toronto Summer Music Festival. At this festival, he collaborated with Milena Pajaro-Van de Stadt of the Dover Quartet and Yura Lee.
Joshua has also been involved in other music festivals, including the Coimbra World Piano Meeting in Portugal, Musical Chairs, and Orford Music Academy. He has participated in masterclasses with many renowned artists, including Alessio Bax, Ronan O’Hora, Louis Lortie, and Robert Levin.

In my piano lessons, I first aim to develop a strong technical and musical foundation. I do this through technical studies and exercises, sight reading, ear training, and music theory.
