About Charlotte
Hello! My name is Charlotte, and I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential in mathematics. I’ve always believed that maths is more than just numbers and equations; it’s a way of thinking, reasoning, and solving problems that helps us understand the world around us. My goal as a teacher is to make maths approachable, enjoyable, and rewarding for every student, no matter their current level of confidence. I understand that many students find maths challenging or even intimidating at first. That’s why I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities to grow. Through clear explanations, practical examples, and a step-by-step approach, I help students build a strong foundation and develop problem-solving skills they can apply with confidence. Teaching gives me the chance to share not only my knowledge but also my enthusiasm for learning. I enjoy seeing the moment when a concept “clicks” and a student realises what they’re capable of achieving. I truly believe that with patience, practice, and the right mindset, anyone can succeed in maths. My tutoring approach is friendly, structured, and personalised. I focus on helping each student understand why something works, not just how. I use a mix of explanations, practice exercises, and real-world examples to make learning engaging and effective. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though I can adjust depending on your needs and schedule. I have a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a PGCE at a distinction level, and I’ve worked with students from ages 10 to 18 covering all the corresponding levels of mathematics, including AP Calculus AB and BC, in both schools and volunteer organisations. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop strong study habits, and enjoy the learning process while achieving real progress.
