About Matthew

Hello, my name is Matthew and I am excited you are considering practicing your French with me! I recently returned after teaching at the Sorbonne University in Paris and I bring with me both classroom experience and a strong international perspective. My academic background includes studies in international development and urban planning, and I recently completed a TEFL certification at the University of Toronto. Having lived and taught in several countries, I value cultural exchange and enjoy helping students develop their language skills in ways that connect to the wider world. I look forward to getting to know you better!

About the lesson

I aim to make this course as student-centred as possible and we can brainstorm during our first lesson on how we can best suit your needs and meet your goals! I value casual and spontaneous conversation as a key to boosting confidence and gaining French skills that are relevant to you.

Matthew helps his students reach their goals in language learning using regular conversation like you'd use in real life but he'll tailor his lessons to whatever approach works best for you. Friendly, flexible, and experienced in teaching at various schools globally, he has a lot to offer. I highly recommend him!
