About Samantha

I wasn’t always great at math, but I’m the kind of person who loves a challenge — so I majored in math for my undergraduate degree and went on to earn a master’s in math and education. I’ve spent the past 6 years teaching math, including a year in Costa Rica, and my approach is completely student-centered. With me, there’s no memorizing and repeating formulas — instead, we focus on understanding the why and how behind the math. My goal is for every student to leave each session feeling clear & confident.

About the lesson

My teaching method is rooted in a student-centered approach, focused on building confidence and understanding through clear explanations, visual models, and guided practice. A typical lesson includes a quick review, targeted instruction, and problem-solving tailored to the student’s needs. I work with grades 5–12, covering topics from pre-algebra to calculus. I tutor first year college students as well! What sets me apart is my calm, supportive approach that helps students develop both their skills and confidence in math.

Samantha works with my son, he is a senior in high school. He has no problem working with her virtually, Samantha is dedicated to getting him to understand the material. She is flexible and reliable. She understands him as a teenager and he really enjoys working with her, if fact he refuses to be tutored by anyone else!! I highly recommend her as a tutor!! You will love her
