About James
As a student myself, I am more than familiar with the feeling of being overwhelmed by new ideas and being completely stuck. I've felt it many times at various points. However, I learned how to break down seemingly impossible topics until the penny drops and everything just makes sense. Unlike other tutors, my experience in taking exams myself is more recent. I understand the stress and nerves in the lead up to exams but I’ve gained invaluable experiences and tips that I would love to be able to pass on!
Furthermore, I know the struggles of balancing revision and social life and for that reason I can relate to GCSE students on a personal level. I have worked closely with students in developing revision plans in order to minimize workload and maximize results. I have helped students break out of bad study habits and parents have commented that I have acted as a young role model by helping to bring out a drive and passion to succeed.
In my free time, I enjoy playing rugby and piano. I am pursuing a career in medicine and have aspirations to work as an orthopedic surgeon.

I tutor online via using a virtual whiteboard and communicate via Zoom or Google meet.
Different students learn in different ways, so I like to be flexible with my sessions by collating various resources and designing activities specifically for each session.
I have received many positive reviews from parents and students regarding the structure of my sessions. My general session plan will be to focus on 2-3 specific points to ensure that you have a thorough understanding of all the content and don't gloss over anything.
Unfortunately though, just learning everything and regurgitating it isn't enough anymore, understanding and applying your knowledge to every situation is essential for picking up those extra few marks that can make all the difference. This is the hard bit but do not despair! That's precisely why I like to focus on application of knowledge by regularly testing you with exam-style questions to make sure that your knowledge is just as comprehensive as you need it to be.
