About Nicholas
I graduated with a Japanese degree in 2013 from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies), University of London. I have both worked in Japan for extended periods: Okinawa for a hotel (2011), and Yokohama for a consultancy (2019-2020). I have been tutoring Japanese privately since 2016, including to lawyers, business people and casual learners.

I will broadly follow the path of standard textbooks. However, I do strongly believe grammar needs to be learnt in context, so I will teach grammar slightly more holistically to show how the language 'fits together'. This style would particularly benefit a motivated complete beginner or elementary student looking to progress quickly.
