About Maja
I am a 24 year old hungarian freelancing singer, band leader, composer, arranger and private teacher. As a child I started to learn classical piano until 9 years later I fell in love with jazz and training vocal cords. In 2013 I was lucky enough to win the 1st prize and 5 special awards of the Dezső Lakatos Ablakos Jazz Competition in Hungary. Besides my intense music high school studies I have been traveling around to sing with different jazz constellations and big bands. In 2015 I got accepted to the renowned Jazz Insitute Berlin (joint college of Universtät der Künste and Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler") and became a student of the legendary Judy Niemack. In the last 4 years I had the chance to learn and practice high level vocal tecnique, improvisation, arranging, composing / songwriting, music theory and many more. Now that I have completed my Jazz Gesang Bachelor's degree I am planning on staying in Berlin for some years to perform more and to share my experience / knowledge with children / adults interested.

The singing lessons I offer always involve breathing tecnique, good posture and support, understanding how the body functions while producing a healthy sound, personalized warm-ups and vocal teqnique exercises, furthermore learning songs that challenge yet hype the person. I can always adapt these qualities to the age and the goal of the person. I am very happy to explain some classical / jazz music theory, hungarian folk music, musical improvisation, the basics of composing, playing a little piano or work on eartraining too.
