About Lucy
My teaching approach is built around helping students grow as confident and expressive guitarists. I focus on clear fundamentals while encouraging creativity and personal style. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals, and musical taste, whether you’re exploring acoustic, classical, or contemporary playing. I also integrate music production basics, teaching how to record clean tracks, balance tones, and use simple tools for home studio practice. Loop layering is a key part of my sessions, allowing students to create full-sounding performances and explore rhythm and harmony in exciting ways. Improvisation is taught as a natural flow, helping you understand scales, phrasing, and emotional expression. For those who enjoy structured and technical playing, I guide you through precise finger techniques, tone control, and classical repertoire. If you’re drawn to intricate picking and dynamic sound, I provide methods to strengthen dexterity and musical sensitivity. I also emphasize stage-style playing — developing confidence, body language, and connection with the audience. I believe learning guitar should be both disciplined and enjoyable. I’m an experienced guitar teacher with over 10 years of teaching and performing experience, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Guitar Studies. My passion lies in helping adult learners reconnect with their musical side, especially those returning to guitar after years away. I understand how intimidating it can feel to start again, but I believe that music should always be a source of joy, not pressure.
My lessons are designed to be flexible, supportive, and completely judgment-free. Every student learns differently, so I create personalized lesson plans that move at your own pace. Whether you want to strum your favorite songs, master fingerstyle techniques, or simply enjoy the process of playing again, I guide you step by step with patience and encouragement.
Together, we’ll build confidence, strengthen technique, and rediscover your passion for music in a relaxed and motivating setting. I focus on practical progress that you can feel and hear after every session.
