About Ember
My teaching approach puts fun first, making the guitar a joyful and welcoming instrument for beginners. Lessons start with color-coded tabs, simple melodies, and rhythm play that make learning feel like a game. I focus on keeping students engaged and motivated, turning each session into an enjoyable musical adventure.
We include finger muscle warm-ups, strumming games, sound pattern recognition, and listening exercises to build strong foundational skills. I am a guitar tutor with 9 years of experience, passionate about making music accessible to all learners, including visually impaired and differently-abled students. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on Guitar, which gives me a strong foundation in both technique and pedagogy. My teaching combines traditional methods with adaptive strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
I use tactile notation, audio cue training, and rhythmic development exercises to help students learn confidently and independently. Lessons focus on building muscle memory, ear training, and expressive playing. I emphasize rhythm as a core skill, helping students stay grounded and musical.
I also guide students through improvisation, chord shapes, and composition in ways that are approachable and engaging. Every lesson is designed to nurture creativity, patience, and self-confidence. I create customized learning plans that honor each student’s pace and strengths.
Accessibility is central to my teaching philosophy. I believe that every student deserves the joy of making music. Mistakes are opportunities to learn, and every achievement is celebrated.
