About Ewan
As a recent graduate from the University of Strathclyde in Law with French, I am offering French tuition in Glasgow and the surrounding area. I have a lot of experience in all aspects of French language throughout my University degree and from living and studying in Lyon for a year in 2017/2018. Throughout my studies I have concentrated on all aspects of spoken and written French and sat a number of exams in translation between French and English. Having sat my advanced Higher French exam in 2014, I am still familiar with the format of the Nat 5/Higher/Advanced Higher exams, and I would love to help as many people as possible to achieve their full potential!
I would also love to hear from any University students looking for help with their French language degrees. It can be really helpful even just to speak to someone in your foreign language for a short time each week, and to share ideas on how best to translate.

I am friendly and approachable, and above all I firmly believe that the only way to improve in a language is to make mistakes. Each student is different and will have their own strengths and weaknesses when learning a language. For some it may be that spoken French is more difficult, and others may struggle with writing in French or understanding written French.
I aim to work with each student individually to assess which areas require most work, and ultimately to build on these areas to boost their performance. One area which is often particularly important is spoken French. It is crucial to work on your accent for oral exams, and students may initially feel embarrassed when trying a foreign accent (I certainly did!). I hope to help students to get over this initial embarrassment to improve their grades by presenting clearly!
