Kia ora! I am an experienced teacher - having taught English at high school level for five years, and previously working as a tutor for three years. I am available to tutor English from Y9-Y12.

About Madeline
I have always had a huge passion for English literature and for helping rangatahi grow. I am creative, experienced, caring and nurturing. I take a collaborate approach to teaching and seek to support students in the ways that work best for them.
Having taught English at high school level, I know the ins and outs of NCEA English and how best to help students with their studies. I fundamentally believe any student can achieve their learning goals, both by investing time and effort and by having a little guidance.
I am also a published writer, musician and artist. I look forward to getting to know you and to help you on your learning journey!

I have a warm and collaborative approach to teaching. Typical lessons are 1 hour and can cover whatever you want to focus on. My lessons are for students aged 12-17, with a focus on those sitting or preparing for NCEA qualifications.
I hold:
-Bachelor of Arts in English
-Master of Arts in Creative Writing (with Distinction)
-Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Education
Lessons are done via zoom or potentially in person (if you are living within the Auckland area).
I have five years experience as a high school English teacher and a further three years working as an English tutor. I also have experience working in disability support work, and a particular interest in helping neurodivergent students develop & succeed in the ways they would like to.
Lessons are $40 per hour. Payment can be made online via bank transfer.
