About Mikaela
I am a third-year student at San Diego State University, currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in kinesiology, the study of body movement.
I enjoy helping others learn and build new study skills to help them succeed in their future endeavors. My previous experience consists of
-Coaching youth lacrosse from varying ages (5-18 years old)
-Have experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant at San Diego State University in Human Anatomy and Applied Kinesiology courses.
-Current student-athlete tutor at San Diego State University in biology courses, including anatomy and physiology

Typical sesson consists of
-5 minutes dedicated to checking in with the student and seeing how they are feeling inside and outside the classroom
-40-45 minutes reviewing material with the student. This can be through asking the student to explain what they learned, what they find confusing, and working through practice problems
-5 minutes dedicating to reviewing what was completed and making a plan for next session
I work with various learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and can tailor a session to that style of learning. I work with high school and college students with various backgrounds, and have experience teaching one-on-one and in group settings.
