About David
As a tutor and teacher, I look forward to inspiring future speakers of Spanish. It is a passion I have held for well over 15 years - the language itself, the culture, deep history, and cuisine. Furthering your own knowledge in this amazing language can further your future career opportunities - such as working in professions where being bilingual has advantages, Diplomatic work, Translation work or even just for travel! Personally, I have traveled and studied throughout Latin America and soon hope to go back soon to visit Spain - especially down south in Andalucia & Barcelona are on the top of my wishlist. I enjoy a lot of Spanish language music, from Salsa to Reggaeton and anything in between - and really have grown to deeply appreciate the depth of Spanish language film and literature.

I create bespoke lessons tailored to the needs of the client, ranging from High School (Y9-13) to Adults learning Spanish. I have a communication-heavy approach to language learning - trying to listen, read and write in the target language where possible - as this is proven to deepen learning at a rapid rate. As a native English speaker, I can break grammar points to make them understandable to those with a similar background.

Qualifications - Certified Teacher, BA in Spanish & BA (Hons) 1st Class Honors in Spanish from the University of Auckland. I have taught at Rangitoto College & Takapuna Grammar School and have experience with NCEA assessments and requirements as well as IB.
