A Korean artist with MFA degree from the Glasgow School of Art, I teach art lessons including drawing, sculpture, and illustration. I can also help students who need research methodology advice.

About Jiyoon
I am a Korean visual artist. I have an MFA (with Distinction) from the Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow and a BA in Fine Art from Dongguk University, Seoul. I also took a mixed media course for a month at the Art Students League of New York, USA, as a part of the Young Korean Artist Programme supported by Galerie Gaia in South Korea.
Currently, I am based in Edinburgh and hold a studio licence at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. In 2019, I was selected for the thematic residency programme at Arteles Creative Centre in Finland. In 2023, I was invited as a guest artist for the GoMA Youth Group’s summer programme at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in Glasgow. I also completed several commissioned projects and actively exhibit in both solo and group exhibitions across South Korea and the UK.

My teaching combines technical skill and conceptual thinking, encouraging students to express their ideas confidently through painting, drawing, sculpture, and illustration. I also guide students in the research methodology of art practice, helping them connect creative experimentation with critical reflection.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to each student’s goals, from beginners exploring creativity to advanced learners preparing portfolios or research projects. My classes are open to all ages and levels! If you are interested in art, you are always welcome! I adapt my approach to suit each individual’s interests and experience.
As an emerging artist with international exhibition experience, I support students in developing both practical and theoretical aspects of their work.
My lessons are available online or in person at my studio in Edinburgh, and are designed to inspire curiosity, confidence, and creative growth.
