About Rebecca
I am an experienced Primary School teacher, Literacy leader and Phonics leader. I have been a Primary Teacher for 20 years in Derbyshire and beautiful Cornwall. My aim has always been to make learning fun and engaging. I have worked hard to find different methods to support children who find reading, writing and spelling challenging with the aim of breaking down those learning barriers. The moment when a child discovers they can read is like handing them a magic key that opens up a door to a whole new world! It's those moments that make my work so incredibly rewarding.

Story telling can be enormous fun, you don't have to be able to write fluently to create your own story or poem. I use well known stories, poems and rhymes to help children get started , so those barriers when you are struggling for ideas are removed.
Phonics can be challenging for lots of children so I teach through a range of multi sensory methods to engage the most reluctant reader. I strive to make it fun and engaging through games and activities! Successful spelling learning runs alongside reading teaching.
