About John
John Vernon is an attorney who has counseled growth-minded business owners and entrepreneurs in structuring, financing, and scaling their ventures. Clients trusted him for providing business and legal advice in the pursuit of both immediate and long-term goals. His exceptional communication skills and keen insights have made him a valued team member.
John earned his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and has been a member of the Maryland Bar since 2019. While in law school, he focused on intellectual property and business law. He mentored first year students and worked with the admissions office to assist new applicants. John also counseled undergraduate students, judging business plan competitions and teaching business concepts.
In addition to his law degree, John holds a Master’s of Science in Engineering, Technology, and Entrepreneurship from the University of Notre Dame, where he serves as an alumni mentor for current students. John also earned a BS from Notre Dame, focusing on Neuroscience. He worked with the neurodevelopment lab, coaching children with autism and their parents. John guided prospective students as well, providing tours and support for the Notre Dame admissions office.
John is involved in several service organizations. Previously, he was a mentor and tutor to high school students as part of the LYTE program. John is involved in the alumni clubs for his alma maters. He also has performed service work for the Lumen Institute, and the Knights of Columbus, and he is an Eagle Scout. He currently serves on the Pastoral Council for St. Mary's Parish.

I want to support students and help them feel engaged. Every student learns at a different pace and in their own style. I will explain complex ideas in simple, understandable terms. Through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback, I hope to boost students’ confidence. I will share my experience and expertise in subject areas and will tackle a range of questions students may face.
As a law school graduate, I like to follow Socratic questioning, asking guided questions to lead students to find answers on their own. Often, this involves breaking down complex concepts into smaller, manageable parts. I also try to use analogies, examples, scaffolded learning, retrieval and recall, diagramming, gamification, and collaborative problem-solving. I can offer a personalized approach based on each student’s needs and requirements. I want to create a positive learning environment that fosters meaningful progress.
I have a passion for learning and education and want to inspire the same curiosity and motivation in students.
