My Approach as a Teacher As an online tutor, my teaching philosophy revolves around engagement, empathy, and empowerment. I believe young learners thrive in environments where they're encouraged to ask questions, express ideas freely, and connect what they learn to their everyday lives. Teaching Techniques and Methods Interactive Learning: I use storytelling, roleplay, real-life examples, and visuals (like maps, flashcards, and short videos) to explain concepts clearly. Activity-Based Learning: Quizzes, mini-games, drawing tasks, and group activities are integrated into lessons to keep young minds active and focused. Multisensory Approach: Especially in English, I combine phonics, audio, and visual aids to help with reading and comprehension. For Social Science, I use timelines, diagrams, and “imagine and explain” techniques to bring history and civics to life. Continuous Reinforcement: I use regular revision, recaps, and checkpoints to help retain concepts long-term. Usual Structure of a Class Each class is structured in the following format (30–45 minutes depending on age and attention span): 1. Warm-up (5 mins) * A short recap or fun question to activate prior knowledge 2. Concept Introduction (10–15 mins) New topic introduced with storytelling, visuals, or real-life context 3. Interactive Practice (10–15 mins) Worksheets, verbal Q\&A, quizzes, or games 4. Wrap-Up & Homework (5 mins) Summary of the lesson and one short home task (if needed) What Makes Me a Special Teacher Patient and Friendly: I meet each child at their level of understanding and build confidence step by step. Culturally Aware: I can incorporate regional languages (like Malayalam) when needed to support foundational understanding, while keeping instruction in English.
