About Paul
A graduate of Cambridge University in classics, I won the 1983 Hallam Prize there as the best translator of Latin and Ancient Greek. I have a Master of Science in psychology from the University of Plymouth where I studied the psychology of language. During my career in the UK in counselling and advice work, I developed a high level of skill in listening, empathy and creating a safe environment. I help you feel at ease, I listen to you carefully and I keep the lessons on the track you have chosen. I settled in Charente in 2016, and I obtained my certificate to teach English as a foreign language in 2019.

I base my lessons on 'Initiation au Grec Ancien', Greek to GCSE and authentic texts in Greek to help you understand the language well. I tailor my courses to your preferences and interests to help you learn as easily as possible. I also teach in French.
