About Chipo

I am a health sciences professional with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from Gazi University and I am currently completing an MSc in Biostatistics at the University of Zambia.

My academic background has given me a strong foundation in biostatistics, epidemiology, research methodology, and applied statistical analysis. I particularly enjoy helping students understand statistics within the context of medicine, public health, and health research.

I also have several years of experience tutoring students and preparing learners for academic and professional examinations. My teaching style is patient, practical, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I encourage students to ask questions, work through problems step by step, and develop the confidence to solve similar problems independently.

Whether you are studying biostatistics for the first time, preparing for an examination, studying epidemiology, or trying to understand the statistics used in your research, I will adapt our lessons to your level and goals.

My aim is simple: **to make statistics easier to understand and help you become confident using it.**

My approach to teaching biostatistics is practical, patient, and focused on genuine understanding. I don't believe students should simply memorize statistical formulas or tests. Instead, I help them understand why a particular method is used, when it is appropriate, how to apply it, and most importantly, how to interpret the results.

# My teaching method

I start by understanding the student's current level, academic background, and specific goals. I then adapt each lesson to their needs. For students who are struggling with the fundamentals, I use simple explanations and worked examples to gradually build their confidence. For more advanced students, I focus more on statistical reasoning, interpretation, research applications, and problem-solving.

I like to use examples from medicine, public health, epidemiology, and other health sciences because these make statistical concepts much more relevant and easier to understand. Where appropriate, I also use real or realistic research scenarios so that students can see how the concepts are applied outside the classroom.

# A typical lesson

A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material and an opportunity for the student to identify anything they are still struggling with. We then introduce or review the main concept for the lesson, followed by worked examples where I explain the reasoning step by step.

The student then works through similar problems with my guidance. Rather than immediately giving the answer, I encourage them to explain their reasoning so that we can identify and correct misunderstandings. We finish by reviewing the key ideas and identifying what the student should practice before the next lesson.

# What sets me apart

My background combines health sciences and epidemiology. I have a degree in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and I am currently completing an MSc in Biostatistics. This allows me to teach statistics within the context of real health and medical research rather than treating statistics as a purely mathematical subject.

I also have several years of experience tutoring students and preparing learners for academic and professional examinations. I understand that students learn at different speeds, so I aim to create a relaxed environment where they can ask questions freely and make mistakes without feeling intimidated.

# Who my lessons are for

I primarily teach:

* Undergraduate medical and health science students
* Physiotherapy and rehabilitation students
* Nursing students
* Public health students
* Biomedical science students
* Epidemiology students
* Master's students taking introductory or applied biostatistics
* Students preparing for biostatistics or epidemiology examinations
* Students who need help understanding research papers or statistical methods

I can help with descriptive and inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square tests, correlation, regression, epidemiological measures, study designs, sampling, research methods, and interpretation of statistical results.

Whether you are starting biostatistics from the beginning or struggling with a particular topic, my goal is to make the subject understandable, practical, and much less intimidating.
